October 10, 2019:

Diversity is a “hot button” topic, especially in the workplace. More than ever, employers are intentionally seeking dynamic leaders of various backgrounds to join their teams. No matter where you are in your professional journey, you will interact with individuals that do not hold your beliefs or background. So what happens next? How do we all work together? Who holds the burden to educate on cultural norms? What is “appropriate?” The lines are blurred and there are technically no right or wrong answers, but during this webinar, Elon University alum were able to dive into these difficult questions to decide for self when navigating potentially uncomfortable workplace waters. October 29, 2019:

The Mansfield Rule is inspired by the NFL’s Rooney Rule and is named after Arabella Mansfield, the first woman admitted to the practice of law in the United States. The Mansfield Rule is data-driven and measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered women, lawyers of color, and LGBTQ+ lawyers for senior-level hiring, promotions, and significant leadership and governance roles in the firm. Shantia joined her fellow panel members at the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Annual Meeting in discussing the evolution and goals of the Mansfield Rule, as well as significant outcomes thus far. November 4, 2019:

As the year comes to an end, pressing reset and gearing up for another professional year is key. Shantia keynoted the Mecklenburg County Register of Deeds annual employee training where hot topics were managing workplace conflict and creating an inclusive culture. (Private Event)
